About Us

The Connecticut Chapter of IPMA-HR is comprised of public sector HR professionals across the state.  Generally speaking, our members work for state agencies, municipalities, higher education institutions, and public school boards.   Our membership spans from entry level employees who may be new to the HR field, to HR directors and executive level employees as well.   Our members also include paraprofessionals, attorneys, and EEO Officers.  Professional backgrounds vary from HR generalists, recruiters, benefits specialists, labor relations specialists, and staff development trainers, to name a few.  Our chapter strives to serve our members by: (1) offering professional development opportunities which are both enriching and cost-effective; (2) increasing recognition and partnerships among colleagues through networking; (3) emphasizing the benefits of professional growth which is encouraged through all of the chapter’s activities. 

In doing so, our goal is to provide information and support to help HR professionals increase their job performance, overall agency function and career fulfillment.
